Planning application submitted for first 148 homes at The Quadrant
27 July 2015
A planning application for the first two phases of residential development at The Quadrant (Q1) has been submitted to Boston Borough Council.
Q1 was formally granted planning permission in March 2015 – in ‘outline’ form for the residential and commercial elements, and in ‘detail’ for the new Community Stadium and the distributor road.
Chestnut Homes have now submitted detailed plans for the first 148 new homes at Q1 (ref B/15/0264).
The design and layout for phases 1 and 2 – which closely follow the principles set out in the approved Design and Access Statement submitted with the original application – aim to create a high quality, village style development that reflects the traditional architecture and materials found in the old part of Wyberton and similar local villages.
Comments received during the extensive consultation exercise that was undertaken for the original planning application have been taken into consideration in the plans for phases 1 and 2. For example, in response to a key concern raised by neighbours, the new homes adjacent to existing properties will not be more than two storeys in height. Extensive tree planting has also been included to the boundary between Q1 and the existing properties on Tytton Lane East.
Comprehensive sustainable urban drainage systems will provide a number of swales to transport surface water through the site in a sustainable manner, and will create a green environment.
The planning application for phases 1 and 2 has been validated by Boston Borough Council, and can be viewed via their website using reference B/15/0264, where comments can also be submitted. A decision is expected in the autumn.
